Fely Campo: Image of Madrid Fashion Week

Fely Campo: Imagen de la Semana de la Moda de Madrid

The love story between Fely Campo and fashion began in the early 70s, when she entered a sewing workshop in her native Salamanca at the age of 13. The designer from Salamanca has 50 years of experience in the world of fashion, which is 50 years of passion for a beautiful and very special profession. Madrid Capital de Moda had the opportunity to talk to her in her atelier located in calle Jorge Juan 29, 1º derecha, and in that talk she told us some of her experiences after 5 decades in the profession of creating garments for today’s women.

In this month of February 2024, Fely Campo is the image of Madrid Fashion Week and the photo shoot carried out at the Palacio de Cibeles, headquarters of the Madrid City Council, can be seen in the streets of the city on the mupis and banners that decorate it to celebrate the event that makes it the international capital of design. 50 years in a profession like Fely’s is something tremendously special, which is why the designer from Salamanca is presenting an exhibition of editorial fashion photography by photographer Constantino Quero Simons, in collaboration with five emblematic establishments in Madrid, authentic icons of the city.

This exhibition is part of the new edition of Madrid es Moda, the ACME initiative subsidised by the Madrid City Council, through the Madrid Capital de Moda project, and will be inaugurated in the RAMSES gastronomic space on 12 February at 7.30 pm, with a performance that will highlight the importance of craftsmanship in the field of fashion, one of the strongholds of the Fely Campo firm. Casa Hernanz, El Ángel, Almacenes Pontejos, La Violeta and Pérgamo are part of this exhibition, which also vindicates the identity of the Spanish capital, encouraging these shops to remain active and contribute to making Madrid a fashion capital.
