Going one step further in its firm commitment to the fashion sector, Madrid City Council has created, within the Hospitality Trade Council of the City of Madrid, a committee of experts from the sector that will be in charge of advising the consistory on the design of public policies, execution and implementation of programs and actions to support the fashion sector and the consolidation of the city as the Madrid Capital de Moda.

This committee is made up of the following people:

President: Pedro González – General Coordinator of Economy, Commerce, Consumption and Partnership.

Members belonging to the City Trade and Hospitality Trade Council: Concha Díaz de Villegas (General Director of Trade and Hospitality), María Ballesteros (General Director of Cultural Programs and Activities), and Eduardo Vega Penichet (General Director of ACOTEX).

Pepa Bueno [Executive Director of ACME]:

Art historian, specialized in design history, she has developed her professional career in the field of women’s and fashion press in media such as Woman, Elle and Vogue Novias, among others, she was part of the Yo Dona launch team. She joined ACME in 2013, promoting the entry of new partners and leading numerous actions inside and outside of Spain to promote and publicize the cultural and economic value of fashion design in our country. She has curated various fashion exhibitions and, throughout his career, has given classes and lectures at various institutions, such as the Ramón Areces Foundation, IED Madrid, Condé Nast College, Pompeu Fabra University, Menéndez Pelayo International University or the Anáhuac Mayab University of Merida. She is part of the Madrid es Moda management committee; is a member of the Fashion Committee of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid; She is part of the Fashion Table, constituted by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and in which the main members of the sector are represented, and it is a jury member of the European project S4Fashion. In 2017 he received the ADYMO award for Fashion Communication.

Nuria de Miguel [MBFW Madrid & Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida Director]:

Degree in Information Sciences from the San Pablo CEU University. In addition, she has completed her training with various communication management programs and is an expert in Fashion communication. In 1988 she joined the Expansión newspaper, forming part of the editorial team, where he remained until 1991, the year in which he joined IFEMA as press officer for shows related to Fashion, such as ImagenModa and the International Shoe Show. Starting in 1996, the year in which IFEMA took over the celebration of the Cibeles Fashion Week -currently Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid-, she was appointed head of communication for this event, a position she combined with managing the communication of other events related to fashion and lifestyle, organized by IFEMA, until July 2019, when she is appointed director of the MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK MADRID catwalk.

Rafael Muñoz [RTVE Journalist]:

Linked to the fashion sector, he has worked in different areas of the house since 1995, from programs and news to radio and the digital platform. He is considered one of the most discerning journalists in the Spanish fashion sector and was part of the MBFW Madrid Fashion Committee. He has been part of the jury of the most relevant awards, such as the National Fashion Design Award or the Vogue Who`s On Next. At RTVE, he writes about fashion from different points of view, whether from the catwalks of Madrid and Barcelona, ​​or from the red carpet of the Goya Awards.

Jesús Ferrín [Director of Finally (Communication and Showroom agency)]

He has more than 25 years of experience in the fashion sector. His advanced vision, his interest in social movements and his direct contact with national and international brands make him a key advisor for bringing fashion down to the market.

Daniel Pérez [Social and cultural anthropologist and communication strategist]:

Trained in the United Kingdom, Daniel Pérez Barriga has more than 20 years of experience in brand building for Spanish fashion and lifestyle multinationals such as Mango, Carolina Herrera, Desigual and Roberto Verino. He currently combines his work as a brand advisor at Waterboy, a consulting firm he founded in 2018, with classes in Brand Building and New Luxury at various national and international universities. Former member of the MBFW Madrid committee, he is currently a member of the MeM Steering Committee and the Global Fashion Council, a recently created group that brings together more than 25 countries for the global transformation of the sector.

Natalia Bengoechea [Fashion Trends Expert]:

With more than 25 years of experience, Natalia Bengoechea works as a consultant for several national brands and media outlets. Natalia is also a professor at several universities in their post-graduate degrees in fashion. She has been in charge of the fashion section for Vogue, Yo Donna and S Moda, has been a member of the MBFW Madrid Fashion Committee and is currently part of the MeM Steering Committee.

Korinna Moya [Industrial Engineer]:

Korinna is in charge of the Transfer, Innovation and Markets group at Aitex (Textile Technological Institute). In addition, as coordinator of several European Commission initiatives such as the Worth Partnership Project and ELIIT organized by Aitex, she has direct contact with international institutions in Europe, is aware of the European guidelines on innovation and is exposed daily to all the latest developments in the sector in terms of R&D&I

Ignacio Sierra [Corporate CEO of Tendam]:
Formerly Grupo Cortefiel, owner of the brands Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro, Springfield, Women´secret, Hoss Intropia, Slowlove, High Spirits, Dash and Stars and Fifty, Tendam is headed by Ignacio Sierra. Previously, he was responsible for the corporate area of ​​Grupo Cortefiel, which encompasses, among others, the company’s institutional and development activities and corporate projects, social responsibility and communication. Sierra is also a director of Grupo Cortefiel in investee companies and subsidiaries, president and interlocutor before the European Commission and Parliament of the European Branded Clothing Alliance and member of the board of directors and president of the CSR commission of Anged, as well as a member of the board of directors of the Leading Brands of Spain Forum. Graduated in law, the executive completed his training with an MBA from the IE Business School. Sierra began her professional career in the business world at Grupo Mapfre in 1993, where she worked until joining Grupo Cortefiel in 2000.

Laureano Turienzo [President of the Spanish Retail Association]:
Laureano Turienzo, global expert in retail and new business formats, disruptive retailers and latest trends. He advises companies and institutions in their strategic transformation process and he has extensive experience in multinationals and prestigious Spanish retail companies. He teaches at business schools in Spain and the United States. At the same time, he is a popularizer of trends on his blog RetailNewsTrends and in books on retail strategy, and he also gives conferences around the world. He has been recognized Top Celebrity Speaker and Linkedin Top Voices 2020.

Elena Goded [SACOs President]:
Elena Goded, biologist, Doctor of Education, and full professor at UNED, director of the Textile Craft Workshop course from 1990 to 2010. Together with her daughter Camila Lanzas, art historian and designer, they are founders of Ábbatte. Currently, she is also president of SACO, Society of Contemporary Crafts. SACO, an association whose objective is the promotion of handcrafted design in Spain, with criteria of excellence and contemporaneity. It is the first association in Spain, which through these connections between the traditional and the “new”, strengthens high Spanish craftsmanship through exclusivity and mastery in the trade.

Jose de la Morena Fernández [Responsible for the Communication of the Government Area of ​​​​Economy, Innovation and Employment of the Madrid City Council]:

Jose de la Morena, a journalist specialized in economics for more than 10 years, develops his work in the field of communication from the perspective of trends, numbers and results of the different companies. A task that has led him to thoroughly understand the business world. He has also worked in corporate communication and as a consultant for different international brands, spending the last few years at the Madrid City Council, where he is responsible for communication in the Government Department of Economy, Innovation and Employment, from where he has coordinated, among other things, the communication of the Madrid Fashion Week or the exhibition of the Madrid Brand, a real challenge for the City.
