Toros y Letras

Soy de la Cuesta,in collaboration with the Asociación de comerciantes del Barrio de Las Letras, is organising the meeting ‘TOROS Y LETRAS’ on July 7th at 05:00 p.m, in the stand 22 of the Cuesta de Moyano.

In this meeting, Jorge F. Hernández, Mexican writer and expert on Ernest Hemingway, will discuss bullfighting culture in literature, the bibliophilia related to this genre and its relevance in the literature of the North American Nobel Prize winner. He will do so together with Antonio Pradel (novelist), Rubén Amón (journalist and writer) and Verónica de Haro (journalist, writer and lecturer at the University of Murcia).

The activities that make up the programme in memory of Ernest Hemingway’s first visit to Spain and Madrid in 2023 were presented on the 30th of May in the Teatro Español and in the Cervecería alemana with the presence of Ramón Buckley, an expert in modern Spanish and North American literature who specialises in the writer. Soy de La Cuesta took part in Cultuletras on Friday 2nd June with his talk ‘100 años de Hemingway en España. Charla Toros y Letras‘.

The Soy de la Cuesta Association is part of the #MadridSubelaCuesta action plan, a project that holds a series of events to attract new and old audiences.

The meeting ‘TOROS Y LETRAS’ is part of it, thanks to the backing of the Madrid City Council within the project ‘Madrid Capital de Moda’ and the support of the Area of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Madrid City Council.
