Rastro de Madrid: Open daily

Rastro de Madrid: Open daily

To get to know the heart of Madrid, you must go to the Rastro. With 400 years of history, this flea market takes its stalls to the streets every Sunday and public holiday. It sells everything from antiques to curiosities and handicrafts. Its diversity is very well managed and each area is dedicated to a different type of trade: antique books in Calle Carlos Arniches, San Cayetano, the street of painters and their materials and different antique objects in Plaza del General Vara del Rey.

Spending Sunday at the Rastro is not only a tradition but also a pleasure. For centuries, this traditional flea market has been a meeting place in Madrid for strollers, traders and tourists. However, it is essential to remember that El Rastro is open every day because it is one of the most dynamic commercial areas on the Madrid map. With this objective in mind, the Rastro Madrid Traders’ Association intends to relaunch the campaign it set up last year 2022 to promote the area’s commercial offer every day of the week, reinforcing the idea that the Rastro is open at any time.

With the support of the Directorate General for Trade, Hospitality and Consumer Affairs, which is part of the Madrid City Council’s Department of Economy, Innovation and Finance through the Madrid Capital de Moda and Todo está en Madrid projects, the Rastro Madrid traders’ association wants both locals and visitors to know that the district is open every day of the week, and not just on Sunday mornings.

The Open Daily campaign invites the public to enjoy all the plans that this area has to offer from discovering its wide gastronomic offer, its diversity of plans and its numerous shopping options.

If you want to know all the establishments that are waiting for you in the Rastro of Madrid, we invite you to discover the route of El Rastro in the page of Todo está en Madrid. Click here and don’t miss it.

Also remember that every first Saturday of the month you can enjoy a plan in the heart of the city that you won’t want to miss: Los Sábados De El Rastro. Do you know this small open-air antiques fair? Come by on Saturday 7 October and discover the treasures that await you.

Remember that the Rastro is much more than its stalls, and that in the establishments, located in its commercial area, you can find fashion, antiques, decoration and much more.
