Last year 2020, the Madrid City Council, through the Madrid Capital de Moda project, convened the first edition of its MCDM award.
Its objective was and is to grant recognition to creative and business development projects presented by designers of recognized prestige and trajectory. Andalusian designer Moisés Nieto turned out to be the first winner of the award with his project that is now available to the general public: La Hacería.
This initiative is supported by the Strategic Plan of Subsidies 2020-2022 of the Government Area of Economy, Innovation and Employment, of the Madrid City Council through the General Directorate of Commerce and Hospitality, the Association of Fashion Creators of Spain (ACME) and Fundesarte, a benchmark institution in the development of national crafts.
La Hacería is a project that consists of a search engine in which to find work and information on artisan women. The creators who are part of La Hacería rely on traditional techniques to create exclusive pieces. This is a search platform to know your tasks and at the same time, to be able to locate them geographically.
Its main objective is to disseminate the work of experts in the field of the oldest techniques and to be able to share knowledge and create synergies. Revitalizing and spreading artisan techniques and creating a network of women artisans to promote their work and value the figure of women, at the same time that it fosters the union between designers, producers and artisans.
Through an intuitive system of keywords, which predicts how users search, the person using La Hacería will be able to find the trade, the artisan, or the type of piece they are looking for, by filling in the search bar on the page web with the needs you have in mind.
