‘Soy De La Cuesta’ presenta Regreso a Moyano

 

The Association of Friends of Moyano ‘Soy De La Cuesta’, in collaboration with the Madrid City Council with the support of the Culture, Tourism and Sports Area and also, through the Madrid Capital de Moda project, returns with a new edition of the Firmas Fin de Mes (END OF THE MONTH SIGNATURES) initiative. Therefore, he returns with a project that aims to reactivate the commercial and cultural activity of this key location for the life of Madrid. The Association Soy de la Cuesta has prepared a program, which from July to December 2021, will have the presence of different writers and writers who will be signing their works on the last weekend of each month in different booths of La Cuesta de Moyano

July – Sunday 25

  • Rodrigo Cortés (Booth 25) He wanted to be a painter, writer and musician; Today he does it all at the same time by dedicating himself to the cinema. He has worked with actors of the stature of Robert de Niro, Sigourney Weaver, Ryan Reynolds and Uma Thurman.   • Luis Prados de la Escosura (Booth 20) (Málaga, 1959) He has a degree in Hispanic Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid and a master’s degree in journalism from EL PAÍS, a newspaper in which he worked for thirty years as editor-in-chief of Internacional, a correspondent in Mexico and Central America. He was the founder of EL PAÍS Brasil, deputy director and director of America.   • Cruz Morcillo (Booth 13) (Castellar, 1973) is dedicated to counting events and police information on ABC. She collaborates with the COPE network and in El program de Ana Rosa, among others.   • Nativel Preciado (Booth 17) She is a journalist, novelist, and political analyst. She is the author of essays, among which are Out of the Field, Women’s Feelings, Close Friends, Strange Couples, Let’s Talk About Life (with José Antonio Marina), No One Could With Them, If I Had One Hundred Thousand Followers and Let’s Remember , as well as the novels El egoísta, finalist for the 1999 Planeta Award, Silver Wedding, Iron Road, 2007 Spring Novel Award, Cherry Time Arrived, Sing Only for Me, 2014 Fernando Lara Novel Award, and El Nobel and the showgirl. Currently she collaborates in InfoLibre and in various TVE and Atresmedia programs.
  • Javier Santamarta del Pozo (Booth 7) He was born in the Chamberí neighborhood. He is a regular contributor to various radio programs. He has managed to have his own sections on esRadio on history, on Gestiona Radio on literature, and on Onda Cero and Onda Madrid as a regular guest.   • Vanessa Montfort (Booth 14) (1975) She grew up in Madrid. Graduated in Journalism, she is a novelist and playwright. Considered one of the most prominent voices in recent Spanish-language literature, her work is present in 25 countries. She is the author of The Secret Ingredient (XI Ateneo Joven de Sevilla Prize, 2006), Mythology of New York (XLII Ateneo de Sevilla Prize, 2010) and The Legend of the Island without Voice (City of Zaragoza Prize. Best Historical Novel of the Year 2014). With The Dream of the Chrysalis he confirms his critical and public success, reaching 24 editions in Spain and his presence in 20 countries. As a playwright, she is the author of fifteen titles premiered inside and outside of Spain, from London or Rome to Latin America. Her most recent work, Firmado Lejárraga, is a resounding success that has earned him a re-premiere at the National Dramatic Center and a finalist for the 2020 Max Awards as Best Theatrical Authorship.
  • Marta Jiménez Serrano (Booth 23) (Madrid, 1990) She has a degree in Hispanic Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid and has completed a master’s degree in Literary Studies and another in Modern Letters. For four years she lived in France, where she worked as a professor of Language and Literature at the University of Lorraine. She is currently an editor at Turner. His collection of poems, The Light Age, was second prize in the 2020 Adonáis Poetry Prize. The proper names is her first novel.
  • María Fernández-Miranda (Booth 21) She was born in Gijón and lives in Madrid. She has worked for Elle, Marie Claire and Yo Dona magazines; she currently holds the position of deputy director at Cosmopolitan. She is the author of the non-fiction book No Mothers. Women without children against clichés, as a result of whose appearance she was invited to give a TEDx talk that has already exceeded 175,000 views on YouTube.The summer we returned to Alegranza (Plaza & Janés, 2021) At thirty-five years old, Leandra She has become estranged from her husband, has lost all enthusiasm for her work and has witnessed the death of her aunt Valentina in dramatic circumstances.   • Guille Galván (Booth 25) (Madrid, 1980) He is a songwriter, guitarist for Vetusta Morla and the author of much of his repertoire. We can find him frequently visiting cities in America or Europe, where he has received numerous awards and recognitions. He also regularly collaborates in the Líbero magazine and is the author of the poetry books Retrovisores (Bandaàparte, 2015) and Desconocernos (Lunwerg, 2020). With them he has managed to weave his own and unmistakable imaginary around the word, creating poetic spaces ready to be inhabited.

With all the health measures in place, the ‘Firmas Fin de Mes’ event is part of the #MadridSubelaCuesta action plan and aims to serve as a claim so that, after months of pandemic, citizens return to La Cuesta and contribute to the recovery of their commercial and cultural activity.
