BOOK FRIDAY

The Association of traders of the Barrio de Las Letras in collaboration with the association of the Cuesta Moyano, Soy de la Cuesta celebrate on Friday 24 November the first edition of BOOK FRIDAY in the world day of exacerbated consumption of BLACK FRIDAY.

With the support of the Madrid City Council’s Department of Economy, Innovation and Employment, as in all its activities, Soy de la Cuesta is collaborating in the dissemination of the activities within the framework of the Madrid Capital de Moda project.

The participating associations present the bookfriday.org website where they share the manifesto in defence of the encounter between readers and literature in spaces such as bookshops, cultural entities and shops in the Eje de Las Letras.

In order to encourage local commerce, this initiative invites everyone to participate by buying books without discounts, while at the same time rewarding everyone who buys in participating BOOK FRIDAY bookshops with a number for a draw for a set of books worth 240 euros.

It is therefore a question of supporting books as a cultural asset, defending their fixed price, promoting bibliodiversity so that there can also be a network of bookshops as extensive as possible where they can be sold under the same conditions.
