Summer exhibitions in Serrería Belga

Exposiciones de verano en Serrería Belga

Serrería Belga, located at Calle de la Alameda 15, is one of the cultural spaces managed by the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Madrid City Council.

Serrería Belga is a fundamental space for fashion in Madrid, hosting each edition of Madrid es Moda (an initiative created by ACME and supported by the Madrid City Council through the Madrid Capital de Moda project). Since September 2020, Serrería Belga has become one of the most important places for bringing Spanish designer fashion to the general public: several editions of Fashion Week have been held in this space, which has hosted such important events as the presentation of the Madrid Capital de Moda award, which in its second edition went to Oteyza.

Among the different events held at Serrería Belga, we could highlight some such as ManéMané’s performance catwalk of his collection ‘MANÉMANÉ FALL 23’, as well as multiple talks and presentations that have been held in this place, such as the report ‘Spanish Fashion Design in figures 2022’, or those offered by Klarna, which has had the participation of designers such as JC Pajares, Otrura or Eduardo Navarrete, among many others.

This centre, located in the cultural environment of the Paseo del Arte and the Barrio de las Letras, brings together the dynamism and creative effervescence of Madrid, recalling its past, reflecting its present and projecting the vibrant future of the city. In this way, it offers a heterogeneous public a space for dissemination and encounter in which art, music, design, image and literature occupy a prominent place with an offer of contents for all ages.

costus: la vía láctea

After 40 years without being exhibited to the public, Costus: La Vía Láctea’, curated by Elisa Hernando, arrives at Serrería Belga with a series of paintings and sculptures made by Costus for the mythical bar La Vía Láctea in Malasaña.

In this journey through time, we will be able to see celebrities of our country such as Lola Flores, stars of the papier mâché of the time such as Marlon Brandon, Yul Brynner or Marilyn Monroe through the eyes of the famous couple of artists. You have until the 24th of September to discover it.

Fashion has a special presence in each of the exhibitions and you can only discover this if you visit them.Take the opportunity to stroll around the Barrio de las Letras and get to know the different shops and local establishments where you can enjoy its wide range of restaurants and bars.
