Madrid es Moda, an initiative organized by the Asociación Creadores de Moda de España (ACME) with the support of the Madrid City Council, has already confirmed the schedule for its next edition, to be held from September 7 to 11.
The event will continue to promote Spanish signature fashion in events that will once again transform the city and its corners into a catwalk.
In addition, it will be in charge of inaugurating Fashion Week with a grand fashion show at the iconic Puerta de Alcalá on September 7. It will be inspired by the tradition, folklore and craftsmanship of Madrid and will feature the participation of more than 30 designers and 50 models.
Within Madrid es Moda, there will be more than 30 appointments of outstanding firms and creators.
ESlowfashion, THE ORIGIN OF SPANISH FASHION
Slowfashion is the creative concept that shapes this edition of Madrid es Moda. An invitation to look back to understand Spanish signature fashion and rediscover what makes it unique and different. A savoir faire that already conquered the European courts with the black of Philip II, captivated the whole world in the 1920s with Fortuny’s Delphos dress, brought together in Balenciaga’s atelier the most powerful and elegant women on the planet or flooded the catwalks of Paris with metallic sparkles thanks to Paco Rabanne.
This will be the starting point that will guide all the events of the most traditional edition of Madrid es Moda.
FASHION SHOW AT THE PUERTA DE ALCALÁ, OPENING OF THE FASHION WEEK
The opening of Madrid es Moda will be held in one of the most iconic places in the capital: the Puerta de Alcalá. An unprecedented event that will take place on Saturday, September 7 at 7:30 pm, during the sunset, with 50 models showing the proposals of more than 30 designers.
FIVE DAYS TO ENJOY SPANISH FASHION
One of the most outstanding presentations will be that of Maison Mesa at the monument to Alfonso XII in the Retiro Park pond or that of María Lafuente at the Cuesta de Moyano Book Fair. Two essential stops in the capital.
Devota & Lomba will unveil its collection in the courtyards of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, undoubtedly one of the treasures of Madrid along with the Palacio de Longoria, headquarters of the SGAE, space chosen by Duyos. And in the recently inaugurated Casa de la Arquitectura, located in the Arquería de Nuevos Ministerios, we will discover the new proposals of Corsicana.
