Madrid Craft Week, will take place from November 12 to 21. The event once again promotes commerce and crafts in the city of Madrid with its Christmas edition, the fifth since the event began to be held in the capital.
Authenticity, creativity and meticulous work are three of the fundamental ingredients of this new occasion, which not only aims to support local crafts and commerce in Madrid, but also invites residents and visitors to live unique experiences through a series of proposals that will take place in the participating establishments, more than 220 in this edition.
Workshops, contests, open days can be discovered during these days, to vindicate the importance of the craft world within the fashion, decoration, art and gastronomy sectors, always claiming the relevance that sustainability has in this sector .
On this new occasion, different associations of merchants from Madrid neighborhoods will participate again, such as Las Letras Street (Barrio de las Letras) Chueca Diversa (Barrio de Chueca), Salesas Madrid (Barrio de Salesas) or Rastro Madrid (Barrio de Lavapiés) , among many other collaborators, among which of course is the Madrid City Council, through the Madrid Capital de Moda y Todo está en Madrid project.
MADRID CRAFT WEEK XMAS EDITION NEWS
▶ Craft Space: an enclosure that can be visited from November 19 to 21 where the public can buy artisan products of all kinds and meet the designers themselves. This new edition will have the physical presence of artisans from the island of La Palma so that they can promote their quality products on the peninsula and receive that support that they so much need at the moment.
▶ Madrid Craft Week shopping circuits: the public will have more than 220 artisan shops to get to know the craft world, enjoy workshops, exhibitions, door sessions, conferences and discounts.
▶ Notorious and instagrammable element: a 2-meter body will be made, forming the words “MADRID CRAFT WEEK” with plant decoration and lighting. This element will be made by various florists in the neighborhood where the corporeal is installed and the public that takes photos with it and publishes them on their social networks will be able to enter various raffles.
▶ Christmas Tables Contest: we will enjoy shop windows, craftsmen and special shops that will participate in an open contest to make the best Christmas table.
▶ Madrid Craft Week Awards: one of the most innovative actions since they will be the first awards organized to honor this sector. Among the main categories we find: Best craftsman, Neighborhood promoter of crafts, Institution most committed to crafts or Best artisan trade, among others.
