The municipal markets will continue to be open both to attend their clients in person and, and more recommended, to serve orders placed over the phone or through online merchant platforms. In addition, Mercado 47, the digital market created by the City Council as a common space for Madrid businesses, Amazon and lacompraasidagusto.com, complement the purchase offer without leaving home.
Normality in supply has been a constant since the beginning of the health crisis, so that the 45 municipal markets are perfectly supplied and function normally. Given the evolution and the declaration of the alert, the market stalls attend to their customers by telephone to facilitate them to carry out their purchases on a regular basis and avoid unnecessary travel and risks when bringing the order to their homes.
This measure, adopted with the elderly in mind as regular customers in the markets, demonstrates the effort of merchants to restore the trust placed in them by their customers and contribute to the normal provisioning of all households in the city.
The City Council, through the General Directorate of Commerce and Hospitality, will extend this initiative as long as necessary.

Along with Mercado 47, Amazon and lacompraasidagusto.com will ensure that, while the coronavirus crisis lasts, nothing is missing in Madrid homes.
