FURNITURE DESIGN IN THE XIX CENTURY

Located on Calle San Mateo 13, the Museum of Romanticism is a secret jewel that often goes unnoticed by locals and visitors, however it keeps a number of invaluable pieces. Entering this small palace you will be able to live an authentic time travel experience, directly to the 19th century.

This February, the museum places an activity within the Madrid Design Festival program: a guided visit by its cultural mediators of the cultural museum to observe the furniture design of the 19th century.

Through a tour of the different rooms of the museum, such as the smoking room, the billiard room or the dining room, the public will be able, through the pieces of the collection, the different styles of furniture present in the Museum: Neoclassicism , Empire, Ruling Queen and Elizabethan.

Observing these magnificent pieces closely, the visitor will be able to know the evolution of the decoration trends that took place throughout the nineteenth century, and that on some occasions, are still present today.
