Canalejas Gallery: Luxury in the heart of Madrid

Galería Canalejas: Lujo en el corazón de Madrid

Plaza de Canalejas has always been one of the most emblematic places in Madrid.
Located in a unique space, just a few steps from Puerta del Sol and very close to Alcalá street, this plaza has always hosted famous and prestigious such as the Banco Hispano Americano, the offices of the newspaper La Tribuna or the Literary Circle of Madrid.

From that old time (at the beginning of the 20th century), they still have La Violeta, a century-old shop that has been making its famous violet candies for decades, which is one of the sweetest references in the city’s gastronomic history.

As a witness of the passage of time, this square is once again experiencing an unrepeatable moment that will change its own history: the opening of Canalejas Gallery; which will be placed along the block that includes the Carrera de San Jerónimo, Plaza de Canalejas, Calle Sevilla and Alcalá.

Madrid Capital de Moda welcomes this project, which is committed to giving a strong presence to the commerce located within the Madrid Central area. Tourism will undoubtedly be one of its best allies, since the plans proposed by Canalejas Gallery (both shopping and gastronomy) are fundamental attractions that will serve to enhance the revitalization of the city center.

Located in the same area will be the five-star Four Seasons Hotel, which is scheduled to open on September 25, which will also have the restaurant of chef Dani García, owner of three Michelin stars, located in its attic.

With three floors, the more than 15,000 square meters will have a wide variety of stores with prestigious brands for accessories, high jewelry, perfumery and of course, fashion.

The opening of the commercial gallery will be done in sections, due to the delays caused by the health situation. The Hermes boutique will be the first establishment to open in Galería Canalejas, expected to take place next October, while the rest of the stores will wait until next year 2021.

In addition to the stores, Canalejas Gallery will have a Food Hall on the ground floor, which will offer a wide range of international and national cuisines, always with a distinguished gourmet style to delight its visitors.

The Canalejas Gallery project aims to revitalize the historical center of Madrid, and thanks to its privileged location, its architectural singularity, and the incomparable artistic and cultural heritage of the 7 historic buildings on which it sits, it plans to become one of the new destinations for luxury shopping and gourmet cuisine in the capital.
