C.A.L.L.E. is an urban art festival that seeks to support commerce and hospitality in the Lavapiés neighborhood. In 2023, C.A.L.L.E. celebrates its 10th anniversary with the participation of 55 artists.
The neighborhood association En Lavapiés, once again with the support of the Madrid City Council through the Madrid Capital de Moda project, and with the organization of Madrid Street Art Project and the sponsorship of Cervezas Alhambra, turns the streets of the traditional neighborhood into an urban museum by decorating facades and shop windows with different works of art.
Different artists such as Alba Bla, Lu de López, Búnker, Rafa Bertone, Apolo el Floho, Fea333, Moonventure, Gorka Gil or Malo Largo among many others, will decorate with their work the establishments of Lavapiés. In this tenth edition C.A.L.L.E. counts with the participation of international artists coming from Finland, Mexico or Colombia.
As every year, the festival will begin with the out-of-competition intervention of our guest artist Javier Lobo (MIEK), renowned muralist from Madrid, chosen in this edition to create the Alhambra Work, entitled El Guardián de la Razón, at 28 Argumosa Street.
C.A.L.L.E. 2023 is also a contest in which all the collaborating artists are eligible for different prizes: Jury Prize, Alhambra Prize and Audience Award, whose decision will be announced on May 11. In addition, from April 28 to May 14, the Lavapiés association presents for residents and visitors a series of activities that you will not want to miss and that we will tell you more about very soon.
