Los Sábados de ‘El Rastro’ are back!

Vuelven los sábados del El Rastro

 

El Rastro is one of the commercial areas of Madrid with the most history in the city, and not only because of the traditional street market that is held every Sunday, but also because of the variety of shops it houses, more than 500 shops, craft centers and antiques. This month of May, an event that will be held every two weeks until the middle of July kicks off, as of May 22: The Saturdays of “El Rastro”.

This occasion will bring together the best antiques, vintage, auction, collecting, gastronomy and entertainment, which will give rise to the most emblematic leisure fair in the capital. All those who come to El Rastro during the celebration of this event will be able to experience first-hand the different proposals presented by the creators and trend seekers who participate in it in disciplines such as crafts, cocktails, music or art, among others.

The Madrid City Council, through the projects Madrid Capital de Moda and Todo está En Madrid, and the Association of Fixed Traders of El Rastro have launched together with Cervezas El Águila Los Sábados de El Rastro, (The Rastro’s Saturdays) a new experience for all public, invigorating the hospitality and commerce in the area.

‘El Rastro’ Shopping Area Guide

The event will be held on the first and third Saturday of the month, safely, following all the measures against Covid19 with limited capacity and will have a large program made up of the following points:

  • Desembalaje Fair: more than 38 exhibitors of antiques, collectibles and vintage clothing in the Plaza General Vara del Rey.
  • Gastro circuit: a route to taste the traditional and innovative gastronomy of the capital that will include the areas of Plaza del Cascorro, Plaza del Campillo and Calle Carlos Archines to offer tapas, vermouth, cocktails, brunch and snacks.
  • Trade circuit: a route through the Ribera de Curtidores area where there will be store corners to give visibility to brands, workshops, and promotions, among others.
  • Family circuit: a route through the Puerta de Toledo where the little ones can enjoy face painting, storytelling, inflatables.
