La Vie en Rose
16 November, 2018 19 May, 2019

The color pink is the shiniest star of “La vie en rose”, the temporary exhibition of the Museo del Traje.
It travels deep into the technical and symbolic aspects associated with the use of that color in Western culture through fashion.
The exhibition route, which can be enjoyed until May 19, 2019, shows the multiple tonalities of pink through the periods in which they have been most used, starting from the collection of the Museo del Traje; where you can see several examples of the use of that color in the textile and clothing items among time.
Directed by Lucina Llorente and Juan Gutiérrez, the exhibition also allows to discover objects and advertising posters in which pink predominates too, and here this color is also analyzed from the gender perspective as it has been always associated with women and feminine aspects.
Some of the pieces have been donated by other museums such as the National Museum of Decorative Arts, the National Archaeological Museum and by private collections such as Antoni de Montpalau.
