Modelos femeninas a moda de los años 60

Female Seams of Spanish Fashion

Female Seams of Spanish Fashion

On Wednesday 23 this exhibition organized by  Agencia EFE together with the Association Creators of Fashion of Spain (ACME) will be held at the Museum of Decorative Arts until March 31.

Agencia EFE, one of the most important agencies in Spain, has decided to focus on the fashion world and make a sample of journalistic photos where you can see the evolution of Spanish sewing through time by making a journey from 1930 until last year, 2018.

In addition, thanks to the collaboration of ACME (Association of Fashion Designers of Spain), visitors can see some dresses, shoes and jewelry to fully immerse themselves in the universe of design. The fabrics “Made in Spain” that have reached all corners of the world are also shown in this exhibition (examples of Spanish embroidery), as well as traditional pieces such as the shawls portrayed in the paintings of Joaquín Sorolla or the “mantillas” of the women of Julio Romero de Torres.

Within “The Female Fashion Stitches of Spain 1930 – 2018” you can find “natural” photographs (without the preparation required by fashion photographs) where you can see how the Spanish design has evolved over time, as women that appear in them shine with their own freedom, without filters or artifices.

The exhibition takes us from the elegant halls of the haute couture houses of the fifties to more contemporary designs of some of the most famous names in the current scene such as Jesus del Pozo, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, David Delfin, Adolfo Dominguez or Sybilla, who brought Spanish fashion to an international space by showing the pluralism of our country.

As stated by Agencia EFE, in this exhibition you will be able to observe the feminine fashion of Spain “captured instantly in each era, according to the tempo and the photojournalistic view over almost nine decades”. This translates into a unique occasion to enjoy the passage of time through the art of design of our country.

All those who want to visit “The Fashion Stitches of Spain 1930 – 2018” may do so at the Museum of Decorative Arts from January 23 until March 31. Entry is free, and on the museum’s official website you may find all the information you need, as well as check the exhibition’s visiting hours and schedule.
