The Guild of Restorers of Plaza Mayor presents the new terraces of the Implementation Project written by the B + DU architecture studio.
Thanks to the collaboration of the 20 catering establishments that are part of the Guild of Restorers of the Plaza Mayor, the project has renewed (in an integral and homogeneous way) the furniture and the rest of the elements that make up the terraces from the area.
The careful design of this plan by the B + DU architecture studio guarantees the functionality, comfort and integration of the terraces in a historic urban space such as the Barrio de los Austrias, always aiming for a better sustainability, respecting the environment and adapting the authentic taste of Madrid to the needs of the 21st century.
In addition to the terraces, this new plan has wanted to give a special prominence to the plant decoration, since they have incorporated more than 250 integrated planters that will be “wearing” different seasonal flowers throughout the year the, all of them chosen from the municipal plant nurseries.
The Plaza Mayor is a living organism in which all kinds of events take place every day throughout the year. Nowadays, it is still a leisure center in which the terraces play a fundamental role, welcoming tourists and residents.
