Femme Creators

Femme Creators is the most special edition of the Mercado de Diseño in which DIMAD wants to support female talent, so that more than 150 female artists will gather together and exhibit their work during an event that will be held from the 9th to the 10th of March.

Illustrators, fashion designers and decorators will present their works during this this festival, which will also include the presence of names such as Sara Herranz, Mercedes Bellido, Carla Fuentes or Coco Dávez; who will share their works with all those who attend this urban festival.

This new edition will be entirely directed by the women who are part of the Mercado de Diseño team, and will be garnished by six female bands from the current music scene.

The main objective of Mercado de Diseño is to demonstrate its strong commitment to support and value the talent of women as designers and artists. The organizers consider it the most important edition of Mercado de Diseño, not only for them, but also for the public that comes, because it helps to show and claim the power that women have in different areas such as, for example, the creation process.

Attendees can enjoy a wide range of food and recipes in the different food trucks parked around the place, as well as different exhibitions and workshops to display all their creativity.

All those who visit Femme Creators can attend interesting presentations organized by the Mercado de Diseño. For example, you will be able to see the works of the industrial designer Inma Bermúdez, who usually collaborates with the Swedish brand, IKEA, and the Spanish company, Lladró.

The creator of the fashion world, Paloma Wool, will also participate by talking about her two passions: sewing and photography; and she will share with the audience her wide professional experience in these universes. Carla Cascales, artist and product designer, will explain her personal way of understanding and performing art.

Also, all these speeches will have the privilege of being moderated by Ladies, Wine & Design; a project founded by Jessica Walsh that through creative talks, seeks to end the salary gap that exists in the world of work.

In addition to it, the MD-i Prize will be awarded to the “Best Independent Designer of the Year”, chosen from among the 50 projects led by women that were previously submitted.
