The Municipal Markets carry fruit to Madrid hospitals

The municipal markets of Madrid, fundamental in the supply of food to the city, have launched a solidarity initiative since last week to thank the health workers for the work they are carrying out these days to curb the effects of COVID-19.

The initiative, which has started from the markets themselves, consists in the distribution to Madrid hospitals of boxes of fresh fruit accompanied by a thank you note with the following text: “Gratitude gives meaning to our past, brings peace for today and create hope for tomorrow. Your markets, your neighborhoods, your people. »

With the distribution, which began last Friday, more than 2,000 kilos of fruit have been delivered to around twenty hospitals, among which are La Paz, Gregorio Marañón and Infanta Leonor, the merchants are seeking to join the health services and show appreciation to doctors, nurses, researchers, and all hospital staff for their efforts during these days and those to come.

This initiative will continue every Friday throughout the quarantine.
